Vacancy- Instructor with Albatross Task Force (ATC) Namibia

"BirdLife International Global Seabird Programme in partnership with the Namibian Nature Foundation and the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources has an Instructor position with the Albatross Task Force (ATF) to offer to a suitably qualified Namibian citizen. The post is based in Walvis Bay.
Requirements
.Tertiary-level qualification in marine or environmental science, biology, zoology or other relevant field
.Proficiency in spoken and written English
.Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
.Driving license
.Willing to spend extended periods at sea
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of Afrikaans, while Spanish and/or Portuguese would be an added advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with a sea-safety certificate, knowledge of the Namibian fishing sector, and in seabird identification.
The Instructor reports to the ATF Senior Instructor, and will work unsupervised at sea aboard fishing vessels, gathering seabird bycatch data, conducting research and liaising with crew regarding seabird conservation issues and ATF work. Additionally, the Instructor will produce regular work plans and reports, and organise and facilitate training workshops.
